We pride ourselves on meeting and exceeding your expectations. Customer Satisfaction is an obsession with us that begins when you place your very first phone call. This is what you can expect when you contact Jeb Kennel Builders:
First Contact
- Your call will be answered by someone who wants your business, listens to details and wants to help. You can reach Jeb anytime between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm M–F. If your call does not take place during business hours and you leave a message, someone will return your call the next business day.
Appointment
- After discussing your project interests and gathering any necessary information, we will schedule an on–site appointment.
We will:
- Set an exact time for the appointment.
- Show up on time (or call in advance if delayed).
- Listen carefully to details and understand what your goals are.
- Take measurements and gather information.
- Make suggestions – finishes, product selections, constructive advice, etc.
- Provide reference information upon request (insurance, licensing, customer referrals, etc.).
- Recap – make sure we understand your request fully.
- Schedule – advise you how long it will take to prepare a proposal.
- Follow up – contact you to discuss the proposal after you have received it.
Estimate
- For most projects, we will prepare a proposal with a firm price (instead of an estimate, which is open to many cost adjustments). For any remodeling projects or service work, we will present an estimate that is as carefully prepared and as thorough as possible.
- The proposal or estimate will contain a “scope of work” which is the broad description of work to be completed, and the full list of specifications for the materials (styles, finishes, etc.) to be used.
- Proposals typically range from 2 to 15 pages, depending on the size and complexity of the project.
- Your proposal will be as detailed as possible, so no one has questions about what is covered in the total cost.
- We do not charge for the proposal. We will, however, ask you for your feedback on the proposal, so that we can evaluate our pricing and services, in an effort to continually improve our company.
Contract
Upon accepting a proposal, we will prepare a contract that:
- Has the full project details.
- Covers all of the “legalese” that serves to protect all parties involved (Insurance, worker’s comp, payments, etc.).
- Establishes estimated project start dates.
- Can be altered. We use “change order” forms to reflect any changes (additions/subtractions) that you may want to make to the “scope of work.” This form will show what costs will be involved for your change, and your approval is required before the work will proceed.
Almost all of our customers would be willing to work on a handshake and good will, but to protect both the customer and the company, we use a contract. This has allowed us to provide excellent customer satisfaction and removes any chances of misunderstanding, confusion, and potentially the loss of our relationships with our valued customers.
Specifics
- We will guide you through the process of identifying and choosing materials, allowing ample time for ordering and shipping so that your project can be started on time and doesn’t have any unnecessary delays.
- All special orders (windows, doors, cabinets, etc.) are customer approved prior to order, so you can be sure that you are getting what YOU want.
- We will assist you in your decision–making process to relieve some of the “stress” that can exist.
- We will inspect all materials and deal with the manufacturer, lumber yard, or shipping company on your behalf if any damages occur.
Project Scheduling
- Our office will handle the coordination that comes with the various trades involved in your project.
- We will notify you of any problems or hitches that may arise immediately and let you make the decision on how to proceed.
- Once we start a job, we are there until it is finished. We do not start a job and then pull our crews to other locations while your project is at a standstill.
- Unlike other companies, you can talk directly to the owner during the entirety of your project You will work with the same person from the proposal through the duration of the project to the billing and even the warranty process. This means you will not have to jump through hoops and receive the run around when you need answers fast.
Execution
During the actual building part of the process, you will find the following:
- Our employees are friendly!
- Our employees wear identifying clothing.
- We vacuum daily on remodels. We use dust curtains. We wipe our feet.
- We use up–to–date building practices – seismic & wind resistance, energy efficiency, etc.
- We are craftsmen. We take pride not only in what we do, but how we do it.
If you’re looking for ECONOMICAL, we have options for that.
If your goal is PRETTY, we can do that.
If it has to be “RIGHT NOW!”, we can handle that.
If you want “SPECTACULAR!”, we can’t wait to show you!
- We have good ideas. If our carpenters see an opportunity to save you a buck, or expand your horizons, they will share their expertise.
- We are qualified to do our jobs. We have years of experience to draw from.
- We are honest and trustworthy. You can rest easy knowing the people working in your home have integrity and are sincere about doing their job.
- We are proud. Our crews take pride in their work and our company’s reputation. They always try to improve both.
Completion
- When we finish a project, we will ask you to walk–thru the work to verify everything is to your satisfaction.
- We will complete any punch–list/touch–ups, as necessary.
- We will confirm your satisfaction, prior to final billing.
Billing
- As much as we would like to spread joy and cheer at no cost to our customers, we have bills to pay, as well.
- We will provide itemized invoices for work completed.
- We will be as detailed as possible, so that you understand what your payments are covering.
- We do not invoice in advance for work that is not complete. We will ask for deposits for the ordering of specialty items, and securing scheduling slots with subcontractors.
Warranty
- When you become a customer of our company, you remain a customer for life. We know a home does not remain unchanged with the assault of time and mother nature. Sometimes materials and products fail. That is why we carry a warranty. When you invest in your home, you expect that investment to give you a return, and so do we. Our reputation is riding on it.
- A warranty is provided with virtually every service and product provided by Jeb Kennel Builders.
- The warranty for your project will be spelled out in detail on your contract.
- Your warranty request will be treated in the same manner as your initial request the first day you called to do business with us. Your satisfaction will always be our highest goal.
